Shannon Ward has been helping people build better relationships at work and at home for more than twenty years. First, she was certified as a parenting course instructor and did that for 10 years while her children were growing up. Then, she went back to school and completed a Master’s Degree in Communication with a focus on organizational, and family communication research.
Shannon worked as a corporate communication and leadership trainer, then as training manager, for more than 5 years, first for a manufacturing company and then for a hospital system. During that time she received more than 100 hours certification training in personality types, temperament theory, and its application in different settings. Then Shannon ventured out on her own as a leadership trainer and management coach.
Now, Shannon has her own coaching practice and training business called Family COLOR WORKS, LLC. She’s combined her leadership training and coaching experience, her parenting background, and her communication degree, with her training in personality types to create and promote “Parenting By COLORS” a parenting and family communication course she created.
Parenting By COLORS is an original, and completely unique, parenting system based on understanding, and parenting to, your child’s unique personality type. Shannon’s also created a ”COLOR WORKS For Couples“ course specifically designed for married couples who want to build their communication, conflict management, and problem solving skills. This “couples” course is also based on understanding, and communicating with, your spouse in terms of their unique personality type, needs, and stressors.
Shannon’s successfully worked with more than 300 families over the last four years as she’s developed her programs. She is finishing up a book, called “Parenting By COLORS: The Quick & Simple Guide to Parenting Any Child, Any Time, Any Where!” to be available very soon. Then she will launch a “learn at home” CD/workbook version of her Parenting By COLORS course that will be available throughout the U.S. and online. She is currently teaching Parenting By COLORS courses, and working with several families one-on-one as a life coach using Parenting By COLORS to help them parent their children and teens more effectively often with overnight results.
She adores her own family: husband of 27 years, Steve, son Zach (24), and daughter Caitlyn (19). She loves Mexican food and camping in the mountains. Her kids call her “YodaMom”.
